5PM: Education Tour: Focused Narratives

Join MCASD Educator Jared Padilla-Elliott for a guided tour that takes a deeper dive into the themes and artworks in Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s–Today.

No RSVP is required. Tour is free with paid admission. Meet in Browar Lobby.

Constant Chaos: This Focused Tour will speak to the movement and rhythm of the Caribbean diaspora. It will highlight the flow of weather, migration, and disruption depicted by artists Zilia Sánchez, Álvaro Barrios, Ana Mendieta, Rafael Ferrer, Donna Conlon and Jonathan Harker, and Alia Farid.

6PM: Rebellion & Movement: Bomba Liberté

Join San Diego-based Bomba Liberté in a communal dance and history sharing.

Both as a reaction against slavery and as a conversation between dancers and musicians, Bomba is a responsive dance: The musician responds to the dancer’s movement.
