Full Series: March 21 – May 9

DATE: Friday 3/21/25   TIME: 10:00am - 12:30pm

Reflections is an art-making workshop series designed to serve adults 55 and older. In this new 8-week art series, explore the bold, dynamic world of Pop Art!

Drawing inspiration from global artworks in MCASD’s new exhibition An Artful Life: A Tribute to Matthew C. Strauss, and our own permanent collection, we will explore iconic artists like Andy Warhol, Beatriz Milhazes, Mikalene Thomas, Takashi Murakami, and Sigmar Polke.

Discover the global pulse of Pop through 4 unique, hands-on projects that blend text, vibrant visuals, and playful experimentation. These 2D artworks will utilize techniques like layering, stencils, and image transfer.

Whether you're a beginner or experienced, these workshops offer a fun and supportive space to explore new creative possibilities! Each workshop will include an investigation of contemporary art-making techniques and materials. No prior art experience is required. Registration gives participants access to the full series (eight sessions).

Session dates in this series are:

Session 1: Friday, March 21 and Friday, March 28
Session 2: Friday, April 4 and Friday, April 11
Session 3: Friday, April 18 and Friday, April 25
Session 4: Friday, May 2 and Friday, May 9
